Building footprints within a very high fire hazard severity zone were selected out and coded with community names from the Countywide Statistical Areas layer. A buffer of 5 feet (including the building footprint) was run for unincorporated areas and intersected with a tree canopy. This intersection depicts the impact of vegetation removal resulting from the proposed Zone 0 regulations. A summary by community with an acreage breakdown was also generated.

This layer feeds into a map service on eGIS servers to display on a Zone 0 web mapping application (click here).

This is a simplified version of the layer to reduce the file size in order to improve map service performance.
