Overview:<\/SPAN><\/P>

This is an analysis of proposed Zone 0 regulations (presentation link is <\/SPAN>here<\/SPAN><\/A>) which calls for the significant removal vegetation within 5 feet of a structure (including the structure itself). Building footprints within a very high fire hazard severity zone were selected out and coded with community names from the Countywide Statistical Areas layer. A buffer of 5 feet (including the building footprint) was run for unincorporated areas and intersected with a tree canopy. This intersection depicts the impact of vegetation removal resulting from the proposed Zone 0 regulations. A summary by community with an acreage breakdown was also generated.<\/SPAN><\/P>

This layer feeds into a map service on eGIS servers to display on a Zone 0 web mapping application (click <\/SPAN>here<\/SPAN><\/A>).<\/SPAN><\/P>

This is a simplified version of the layer to reduce the file size in order to improve map service performance. The simplification tool algorithm used was 'Retain critical bends (Wang-Muller) with a simplification tolerance of 2, and a minimum area of 10 sf.<\/SPAN><\/P>
