Description: Every ten years, the United States attempts to count every person in the country through a process called the Decennial Census. It is mandated by Article I, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution. The latest Census was conducted on April 1, 2010, and provides a snapshot of how many people there are and where they live.Once we know how many people there are and where they live in the County of Los Angeles, the population must be divided as evenly as possible into five supervisorial districts for the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors. Adjusting the boundaries is called “redistricting.”Per California Election Code Section 21500, et seq., the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is required to adjust the boundaries of any or all of the supervisorial districts following each decennial federal census to ensure fair representation. Adjustments to the boundaries are made to ensure that districts are made to be “as nearly equal in population as may be.”Adopted 9/27/11, effective 10/27/11.NOTE: Updated on 1/15/15 to match the layer on eGIS SDE database (with the exception of the LB / San Pedro ports). Original layer DRP had was less accurate as far as lining up with city boundaries - this was exported to 'GEODATABASES/admin_dist' database on 1/14/15.
Description: This a layer of matching parcels to the table showing a list of properties that are subject to the Tax Collector's Power to Sell which may be eligible for a Chapter 8 Sale by Agreement. Excel table entitled 'STPTS-SDTR List Parcels by Sup Dist 03-03-16.xlsx' was sent to us by the Assistant Treasurer and Tax Collector. This table was extracted from the 'GIS_Export' tab which combined the list of parcels from all 5 Supervisorial Districts--this is in the 'support' folder. Additionally a Power Point that explains Chapter 8 sales are also in the 'support' folder. Some parcels did not match and are flagged with the 'GIS_RELATE' field.
Description: These layers depict areas that meet the criteria for High Density Housing as requested by the Board of Supervisors' 2nd District office. A combination was done on the ideal Zoning and Land Use Policy categories that allow such high densities, as well as parcels over .5 acres within these combinations.Combination of all Zoning and Land Use Policy, slivers were deleted. This layer was exported to a table to send to the GP / Housing section to choose these ideal LU / Zoning combinations. 'GP_STATUS' field was added to flag these combinations.Table from GP, converted to GDB table. Joined back to layer 1 and updated GP_STATUS field to be selected out for parcel analysis. After selecting out LU / Zoning combinations identified by GP, parcels were selected and intersected with these selected combinations.Layer 3 was dissolved on all the AIN fields and GP_STATUS categories, so no LU / Zoning is in this layer. Any split parcel was between 'CUP' and 'By Right', per Tina Fung, the 'By Right' was merged with 'CUP'.

Description: This layer represents the opportunity areas as depicted between Figures 5.4 - 5.47 in the General Plan 2035. Depicts the following types of Opportunity Areas:Transit Centers - areas supported by transit where mixed use, and higher intensity development is encouraged.Neighborhood Centers - areas with opportunities for community-serving uses including commercial-only, mixed use, and other related uses which play a central role in a community.Corridors- areas along boulevards that provide connections between neighborhoods and employment centers - emphasizing commercial or mixed use, and opportunities for design improvement.Industrial Flex Districts - industrial areas that provide opporunities for non-industrial uses and mixed uses where appropriate. Also lighter industrial uses (like office/professional uses) that are compatible with residential uses.Industrial Opportunity Areas - economically viable industrial and employment-rich lands in unincorporated areas with an existing community-based plan or in the process of getting one. Further considerations should be given to these areas to be mapped as Employment Protection Districts.Rural Town Centers- focal points of rural communities, serving the daily needs of residents and providing local employment opportunities.
