Description: SCAG's General Plan Land Use GIS datasets were used as the base map for analyzing sites in the SCAG Region for suitability as EV charging sites. The land use GIS feature classes are by parcel and include the parcel APN for each site. Parcels with Single-Family Residential land uses were removed from the feature classes since these sites were not of interest as sites for EV charging stations.Each site received a score for the following criteria:Land useDistance to nearest existing chargerDistance to nearest existing or planned chargerNumber of Battery Electric vehicles in the zip code that the site is located in.Number of Hybrid vehicles in the zip code that the site is located in.Population Density in the census tract that the site is located in.Median Household Income in the census tract that the site is located in.Site located in a disadvantaged communityPollution BurdenPercent population afflicted by asthmaPercent population below the povertylevel Sitewithin a High-Quality TransitArea Distance to the nearest major roadDistance to the nearest Los Angeles MTA Metro light rail station.Site is a Metro station with a parking lotDistance to nearest Metrolink or Amtrak railroad stationDistance to the nearest airportSite contains a Park and Ride lotDistance to the nearest business employing 200 or more people.Propensity of people to purchase an EV within the zip code within which the site is located.Number of morning EV trips within the zip code in which the site is located.Number of mid-day EV trips within the zip code in which the site is located.Streamlined permitting status (if applicable)The sum of scores for the above criteria was calculated to arrive at a total Site Suitability Score for each parcel in the feature class.
