A Significant Ecological Area (SEA) is an area that contains examples of biotic resources that cumulatively represent biological diversity. SEAs are determined for the purpose of protecting biotic diversity, as part of the Los Angeles County general plan and/or the city general plan. Additional regulations shall be applied based on County Code 22.56.215: Hillside management and significant ecological areas - Additional regulations.
